Aviana woke up early that morning she was excited about going to Odyssey's Beach. Getting up she showered and got dressed in warm clothes. It was snowing out but it wasn't to bad. She had already packed her truck up she was going for the weekend and had plenty of food and water. Enough to feed three or four people really. She always packed more than she needed though just encase something happened like her truck breaking down or something. Grabbing the cooler from the fridge and filling it with ice from the freezer she lugged it out to the truck. She was borrowing Angelo's truck for the weekend because her car couldn't pull a horse trailer. She drove up to the barn and hitched the trailer up to the truck than went and got Fleur's saddle, saddle blanket, bridle as well as enough food for the weekend. Once everything was packed she went and got Fleur. The beautiful American Pain walked quietly and calmly into the trailer. Aviana rubbed her neck and kissed her nose before walking out and locking the doors.
Getting in the cab she took off for the long drive to the lake. As she drove she played her favorite country station singing along with the song's perfectly in tune. Upon arrival at the camp she parked the car near a tree where she would be able to tie Fleur up while she set up camp. She walked back and let Fleur out making sure to put a lead on her than led her to a tree and tied her to it. She had plenty of robe to walk around and graze if she wanted. With Fleur taking care of she began setting up camp. Aviana became lost in setting up the tent and than clearing away the snow from a space on the ground for a fire. She became completely consumed by her work so she had no idea she was being watched by someone.

It was early morning and it was snowing lightly when Damien decided to drive out to the National Park. He had been cooped up in the house for too long and needed to get out for a bit. He had packed a thermos of warm cocoa, in case he felt the need to drink something warm. The only good thing about being a ghoul was that he didn't need to think about bringing food. He had already "liberated" a corpse from the morgue yesterday, and it was another week til he needed to eat again. He had also packed an extra pair of socks, something to sit on, a sketchbook and some drawing materials and a small light shovel.
He came to a stop on the outskirts of the park, and exited his car. Soon he was walking through the forest in the direction of Odyssey's Beach. Today's plan was to reach the beach, relaxing there for a few hours maybe sketch some before heading home. As he walked he took the time to admire his surroundings, and to just loos himself in the nature around him.
As he reached the beach he noticed that someone else were there already. What seemed to be a young woman was busying herself with setting up camp. Not far from her stood a horse tied to a tree. He stood there staring awkwardly for a few minutes, before he decided to go greet her. "Hello. I wasn't expecting to see anyone else out here so early" He greeted her cheerfully. "I'm Damien Sweets, are you planning to camp here for the weekend?
That morning, Toby woke up feeling a lot better, then he had the few days before. Getting up, he stretched himself out as he glanced around his room which were just plain white walls. The owner of the apartments didn't want any of them painted and so left a bleak look most of the time. Shrugging, he got dressed for the day, deciding on wearing a simple 'You Mad Bro' shirt with a pair of jeans. Finished getting dressed, he was tempted to play some video games, but he was also itching to go out to Salem's National Park to let loose a bit. Picking up his car keys, he grabbed his hoodie along with his blue cap before marching out of his apartment without a single thing after all, he was only going to spend the night there or anything.
Loading himself into the car, he drove to the park which had been only a fifty minute drive which was weird. Most people tended to go out and about during weekends, but not today for some odd reason. Shrugging, he pulled his car into the lot to notice another car was also parked as well. Ignoring that fact, he headed towards Odyssey’s lake to check out the scene before allowing himself some freedom to change. After all, whoever was lurking in these woods would be pretty scared to see a wolfdog
Jogging towards the lake, he was met with a surprise to see his nurse and Damien. By the looks, the nurse was camping while Damien seemed to be just walking in on the camping scene as he introduced himself. “Wow, Damien I didn't take you for the stalking type.” A smug grin grew on his face as he trotted over towards the two before he greeted the nurse. “Don’t mean to interrupt your camping trip… I just came to check out the lake.”
Aviana had begun humming to herself as she set the tent up. She was putting the last pole in the tent when she heard someone talk from almost directly behind her. She jumped and let out a startled cry twisting around to face whoever it was. It was a guy practically a boy really he couldn't be no older than eighteen or nineteen. But looks could be deceiving. Just look at herself for example she was over one hundred years old but looked no older than twenty. "Umm hello, I wasn't expecting to see anyone here either. Yes me and Fleur are here for the weekend. It's my first weekend off of work for weeks and I'm taking advantage of it." When he introduced herself she held out her hand. "Aviana Quinn," she wouldn't be surprised if he recognized her last name. She would be surprised if he didn't unless he was born here in Salem. The Quinn family had been in Salem for literally hundreds of years. Her mother and father where born in Salem and they where over six hundred years old. And she believed her family was one of the people who founded Salem in sixteen twenty six.
Just than another voice spoke out, one that sounded familiar. Turning around she saw her patient from a few nights ago. "Toby what are you doing here you shouldn't be out in the cold your just getting over the flue." Seriously why where men such idiots some times? Didn't they ever think before they acted? She shook her head in exasperation. "If you get sick again don't come crying to me." There was a slight teasing tone to her voice now. After all she probably would have done the same thing as soon as she was feeling better. She just couldn't bare being locked up inside the house for to long.

Damien jumped at the unexpected cry, as he startled the woman by accident. He hadn't meant to startle her and a sheepish grimace overtook his face. "Oh god, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to startle you" He apologized to her earnestly. Chuckling a bit he reached forward to her hand. "It's nice to meet you, and again sorry about the scare." he spoke, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. Her last name seemed to ring a bell, but for the life of him he couldn't remember where he had heard it.
He was about to continue talking when a familiar voice rung out, and Damien turned around to see Damien coming towards them. "Stalking!" Damien spluttered indignantly. He had never been accused of stalking before. Shaking his head he calmed down, and a grin spread across his face when he heard Aviana's words to Toby. "At least I'm not the one out in the snow after just getting over the flu. Do you delight at being sick? He poked back teasingly.
He turned back towards Aviana and inspected her camp site. "Well, since we're all here we might as well spend the day together. It's always nice to be out in the nature with other people." He suggested cheerfully, clapping his hands together. He really hoped he didn't have to go somewhere else, it was truly beautiful here with all the snow. He was already itching to sit down and sketch his surroundings. He almost regretted not bringing all his painting materials, but he vowed to take some pictures with his phone so he could use those as reference later. Around them the wind seemed to have picked up a bit, and it the snow was falling faster, though it wasn't anything noticeable. "I have warm cocoa." He tempted them, shaking his backpack meaningfully.
"It only takes a few days for the nausea to go away, and the rest is just minor pains or so I read from the internet. I should be fine." Toby spoke in defense as he rose his hands up before he chuckled at the next statement. "Fine, I'll go to the guy who did my x-rays... He is literally the life of a party." Another joke was passed after all, the guy didn't seem to be talkative or even fun for that matter. Oh well, he guessed all doctors or nurses couldn't be as cool as Avianna. Just as the two finished conversing, Damien spoke up with the shock of being called a 'stalker' before prodding at the being sick as well.
"Whoa, you found out my darkest secret. I just love being sick so much." Another joke, another tease was all that was handed out from Toby, but humor was a shining quality that came out when he was with people he trusted. As he finished Damien talked about the three hanging out together, and watched as he waited for a reply from Avianna. Even Toby had said in his own way that he would leave if needed as he didn't want to interrupt her camping trip. A waiting for an answer from the nurse, he turned his gaze over to the beach waters. Ice covered the very tip of the shallow waters, but father out one could still see small ripples being made as the wind slowly skimmed across the land and water. The color was a hue he couldn't recognize, but it was still a lovely picture as the snow continue to drift down. As he watched the scene before him, Damien made an attempt at the bribe of hot coca which had Toby turning his gaze.
"You had me at Coca, dude." As he answered, the snow seemed to be drifting down a bit faster, and winds seemed to be more forceful, but he didn't take any notice to the small hints that were being given out as they were much to settle to take any notice to.
Aviana smiled at Damien, "Don't worry about it I should have been paying more attention to my surroundings." There goes her quiet weekend she thought to herself. Maybe it wouldn't all be to bad having these guys around they seemed nice enough. And Toby she knew she already liked he was easy going and tended to crack jokes even at his own expense sometimes and she liked that about him. Turning to Toby she nodded, "yea that's true for some but you should still have stayed at home until you where completely over this." Aviana laughed when Toby said he'd go to the guy who did her x-rays. "Mark, really go right ahead you'll never get him to talk though he's a loner and rarely ever says anything unless he has to." Her smiled stretched across her face and her eyes where filled with laughter.
She listened as Damien and Toby talked to each other she wondered how they knew each other. Maybe they went to school together they seemed about the same age. When Damien suggested spending the day together she shrugged her shoulders. "Ok, and I got hot cocoa as well I just need to make it I also have a portable stove and enough food for all three of us to last the weekend." She laughed knowing she had definitely gone over board with her preparations for this weekend but she liked being prepared.

Damien smiled and shook his head lightly, as Aviana playfully scolded Toby. At Toby's joke Damien gave a mock scandalized expression. "I knew there was something off about you, but for it to be this! I would have never expected!" He exclaimed loudly in a betrayed tone, before grinning to show he was joking. Damien was in an excellent mood today, he had recently eaten and he was surrounded by beautiful nature. He felt as if nothing could ruin his good mood today.
"Cocoa, the ultimate form of bribery" Damien joked, and turned around to Aviana when she spoke. "That sounds great! You seem to have everything under control. Do you go camping often?" He asked her. Aviana did really seem to know what she was doing. She definitely knew what she was doing, he thought as he surveyed her camp again. Opening his backpack he took out something to sit on, a small folded stool, and placed it on the ground. He unfolded it and sat down on it, and placed the backpack by his feet.
He might have felt bad for practically inviting himself to her camp, but the sight of the shore made him reach for his drawing utensils. When he realized that he had almost subconsciously taken forth his drawing stuff, he gave Toby and Aviana a sheepish smile. "I hope you don't mind. I came down here for inspiration, hoping to sketch some nice drawings." He explained, when a sheepish voice. He had forgotten all about them for a moment. It was a bad habit of his, to get completely consumed by his art when he got inspiration.
"I will, and by the end of the whole situation we will be like two peas in a pod. Mark and Toby, the guys who do adventure trips together. It has a nice ring." Giving a serious look towards Aviana, he acted as if he was going through with the situation and some would have believed him, but an ever-so slowly smirk was drifting on his face as he tried not to chuckle after all, during the x-ray Mark seemed to be the type of loner who would be impossible to be friend. Not only that, but he couldn't help, but to imagine the male going to a rave, having the most stoic face ever while everyone danced around him having a grand time. "You should have invited Mark. I bet he loves camping." Just as he finished up Damien responded to his joke, and frowned lightly as if it had actually hurt him. Titling his head, almost like a dog, he gave soft puppy eyes.
"Wow dude... I told you my darkest secret and now you're making fun of me. People wonder why I don't have friends, this is why." Turn his gaze away, he gave a small chuckle and turned his gaze around as he nodded in agreement with the cocoa bribery. "If you ever want to bribe someone properly, you just tell them you have cocoa." Conversation seemed to flow between Damien and Aviana which gave him the chance to check out her small camp site. Not only that, but he spotted the horse who seemed to be tied up to one of trees, but given enough room to move about. If he could, he would have walked over and checked out the horse after all, he hadn't seen a horse in person before, but he didn't seeing as he didn't know the horse and didn't want to spook it or anything. His head snapped out of his thoughts when Avian announced she had enough food for the three for the entire weekend.
"Darn, I haven't been camping before... That sounded really sad for some reason, and I might stick around if you don't care." He announced with a light shrug as well after all, camping seemed like a lot of fun. Snapping his head over, he waved the artist off as he apologized for wanting to go draw. "Go make a master piece... Just don't forget about me when you become famous."
Aviana laughed as the two boys joked around they where obviously good friends. When Damien asked her if she went camping often she gave him a bright smile. "Every chance I get I just love being out in nature." As she spoke she walked over to Fleur and rubbed her nose. The paint nickered softly and nibbled on her hair affectionately. She laughed softly before placing a kiss on the horses nose. When she turned she saw Toby looked at Fleur. "Would you like to pet her? Come over here and let her smell you first walk around her in a wide circle so you don't startle her and than come from the front. She is very friendly trust me."
When Damien asked if they minded if he drew and she shook her head, "no go right ahead." Aviana laughed once more when Toby asked why she didn't invite Mark to go camping. "Your kidding right, Mark would have a panic attack if let out in the wild over night. He doesn't like nature a whole lot. Plus I don't exactly care for the guy."
This camping trip was turning out to be more fun than she had thought it would be. It was nice having company and someone to talk to besides Fleur who couldn't talk back to her. "Sure feel free to stay the whole weekend if you want I have an extra sleeping bag but only one extra. But I got lots of blankets what with it being winter you never know what you might need. There is also a battery powered heater in the tent I use at night to keep us warm." The tent was pretty big she always liked having a big tent with lots of room to move around.

"You are right Toby, that was cruel of me. I hope you can find it in your soul to forgive me." Damien said laying a hand over his heart, doing his best remorseful expression. He nodded seriously when Toby agreed that cocoa was a superior form of bribery. "Exactly, you ever want something, use cocoa." He laughed and winked at them.
He smiled at Aviana when she confirmed that she was camping often. "I get what you mean, it's wonderful to be surrounded by nature, it's quite relaxing." He agreed cheerfully. He smiled softly as Aviana and Toby began talking, before turning his attention towards drawing. He was relieved that they hadn't been insulted by him suddenly forgetting their presence. It really was a bad habit of his that, though at least now he wasn't forgetting to eat when he got consumed by a painting. When he was alive his family had had to force him away from painting, and shove food down his throat.
"I'm glad the two of you don't mind, and don't worry Toby. I have no intention of being famous just yet." He joked before turning his attention towards his drawing. Quietly he began sketching the beach, trying to immortalize the beautiful scene on paper. Skilled hands, with decades of experience, danced gracefully on the paper drawing the scene in front of him. The ice covering the water closest to the beach, the snow covered sand, the small waves farther out and the falling snow. He lost himself in his drawing, and hardly seemed to notice the wind picking up, and the snow coming down faster and faster as time went by.
A light laugh was heard from behind which seemed to come from Aviana as he spoke of being hurt by Damien's word. Even though the two didn't know each other for long, they acted as if they knew each other for a good while. It was just something that happened, and Toby kind of enjoyed it after all, he didn't have to explain he was joking or to chill. Turning his gaze, Aviana was petting the mare when she offered Toby to come and pet her. He had heard a bit at the ER about Fleur which he gave a light nod back in reply. Slowly, he approached the mare listening to Aviana's instruction. Allowing the horse to smell him, he then slowly made a wide circle as not to startle her and then came up in front of her. Once finished with the instructions, Toby responded to Damien.
"I guess I can forgive you." A cheeky smile was given before his gaze returned to the horse as he slowly held his hand out as if warning the creature he was going to attempt to pet it after all, he was trying his best not to startle the poor horse as he would feel bad... He always hated spooking animals, and felt a bit crummy inside when he did of course, it was never on purpose. "Perhaps it's best to leave Mark in his natural environment." Admitting that would a shrug, he peered over at Damien once again to find that the male was busy drawing. The situation would have been peaceful, if the winds hadn't picked up quite a bit. A light shiver crawled its way up his spine as he was only wearing a hoodie which might have been a bad choice of jacket for the winter. He should have picked up an actually winter hoodie after checking out Salem's local college, but he hadn't... He made a dumb move.
"Sweet." He responded back the the offer of allowing him to stay the whole weekend as she had an extra sleeping bag, plus it proabbly wouldn't be too bad to have a medical nurse after all, injury and sickness lurked around every corner for him. It wasn't until another shiver came from him as he felt the wind push against back so hard that it seemed he would fall over that he spoke up. "Is it just me or is this wind trying to beat me up?"
Aviana was beginning to shiver as the wind picked up and the snow began coming down harder. She had a bad feeling already. As she watched Fleur sniff Toby and than push her nose into his hand giving him permission to pet her she smiled. "I told you she was very friendly. I've been thinking of using as a special aid horse for kids with disabilities. I read somewhere it ca be very healing to ride a horse." Shivering again she decided to get Fleur's blanket out. Leaving Toby with Fleur she walked to the tent and pulled out a thick blanket from inside and walked back over to them. She draped it over her shoulders and spread it out before strapping it in place. I covered everything except for her head and from the middle of her legs down. It would give her some protection from the wind and snow. "If this gets any worse I'm going to put her in the horse trailer to give her some protection from the wind."
"Yea it is wonderful being out in nature but I'm starting to get the feeling I picked a bad weekend to do it on. I hope it doesn't get any worse than it is now. How about some of that hot cocoa now the temperature feels like it's dropping."
When Toby asked if it was just him she shook her head. "No it's not just you the wind is definitely picking up. I think I'm going to put Fleur in the trailer." She quickly untied Fleur from the tree and led her to the trailer. There was plenty of hey on the ground for her if she got hungry and there was plenty of water in there as well. Once she put her in she locked the door and made sure the windows where closed. "Anyone got a iphone on them? I want to check the weather warnings for the area. I left mine at home so I wouldn't be bothered while I was camping. Stupid move on my part I know."

Damien nodded in agreement, he certainly had seemed to pick a bad day to go for a walk. "Yeah, hopefully the weather will calm down. But knowing how fickle nature can be there is no way of knowing." He commented. It would be typical if he managed to get caught in a snow storm in the middle of the nowhere. "Maybe later." He declined her offer.
A violent shiver racked Damien's body as he sat drawing, and he was drawn back to reality. The wind was harsh and the snow was falling in droves. Putting his drawing utensils in his backpack, he stood up shivering. He turned to Aviana as she spoke. "I'm sorry. I don't have a smart phone, though it seems to be the start of a snow storm." Damien said squinting up at the clouds. Another violent gust ripped through him, and he furrowed his eyebrows in worry. The weather seemed to be worsening quickly, soon the snow would be falling so densely that they wouldn't be able to see much.
"I think we should enter the tent, I'm not sure if it's safe to try and drive if this gets much worse." He said, worry filling his voice. Not to mention his car was parked a few miles from here, and he wasn't stupid enough to brave the woods in this weather. He cast a worried look at Toby, from what he'd understood Toby had been ill recently. This probably wasn't good for his health. "If we're lucky the weather will calm soon." Thoguh he didn't hold much hope, he was never that lucky.
Hunching himself as he tried not to fall over due to the wind, which reminded him he should put on some weight as the other two didn't seem to be affected by it much. He allowed his body to shiver, and watched as Avina loaded the horse up safely inside the trailer, before she spoke up about hot cocoa which sounded pretty good right now as the snow started to pile on the sandy beach shore. "Yeah, that sounds amazing right now." He responded, before she asked if any of them had an Iphone which caused him to snort.
"Android is better, but I left mine in the car..." Toby admitted as he thought he was going to go on a little hiking trip in one of his shifting forms after all, he always liked running about as a wolfdog and scaring whoever he came across. Of course, he knew one of these days it would be a hunter, but until that point came, then he would enjoy the fun of scaring mortals.
"I second the idea of going somewhere warm...Like the tent." He agreed when Damien spoke of the three going into the tent until the storm passed. Trying his best to not look like a Chihuahua as the breed tended to be prone to shaking quite a bit... Crossing his arms over his chest, he tried to face away from the wind as he waited for Avina to give the word.
"Also, I think we should drink cocoa in the tent as well... I was bribe with it." A light joke was cracked if he was lighting the mood up after all, from the way it was starting to look, it seemed like a level three winter storm.
Welcome to the scenic town of Salem, Michigan where our story takes the stage. It’s the year 2016, a date not quite far for us to be unable to imagine. Whispers of rebellion are starting to shake the supernatural world, hunters are loading their pistols while the humans are nearly wetting themselves in fear. Each side has their finger on the trigger, itchy and waiting for the other to strike to set off this war. Which side will you choose or how will your story unfold? That, my friend, is left to the wiles of time unless you think you can play your cards right…. But only in the end will they truly be revealed.
