Snow fell gracefully from the sky above, and landed down onto the Earth without care of what was happening around the world or at least the town of Salem. Pure white, and innocent like a child, it was unaware of the whispering that seemed to be passed from ear to ear. Tobias had heard the whispers, but like the snow he seemed to be innocent when it came to everything as he remained neutral in the situation. A side couldn't be chosen by him after all, rumors were hardly ever true... Not only that, but choosing a side would mean death in the end and that was something he wasn't too kin to see just yet. Bundling himself up in a coat, he shook his mind from the thoughts he was having about the rumors. Right now, he wanted to check out a local college as he had plans on attending one of these days.
Heading out of his apartment, he headed down the steps and opened the heavy green door to the outside world as a cold blast of wind met him along with a few snowflakes to the face. Shivering, he marched out into the three inch deep snow as he went to his small black car that was all the way in the back of the parking lot as everyone was taking the spots of front before he even came home from work. Quickening his pace, he nearly fell a few times on the slick ice in attempt to get into his car before he froze his fingers off. Unlocking his car, he shoved himself into the black vehicle and blasted the air condition before driving off to the campus.
After half an hour drive to the campus, he parked his car close to the front office just in case as he tended to forget where he parked the darn thing more often which resulted him spending a long time searching. Not only that, but when the snow had been falling for a few days straight, he didn't want to take the chance of freezing before figuring out where his car was. Getting into the front office, he almost dropped on the floor as the office seemed to be as warm as the Sahara desert. Thanking whoever turn the temperature up that high, he was greeted by a perky lady who gave him a list of classes that were teaching today and then shooed off to explore the inside of the campus. Happy to explore the place alone, he started his 'private' tour as he kept his nose in the paper trying to figure out which class to go to since the major he wanted wasn't doing a class today.
Due to not watching his step, and ignoring the curses he received from students who went around, he soon ran into some which caused him to stumble a few steps back. Glancing over to the girl he ran into, he was surprised to see she had a cane along with a dog...
"Sorry..." He muttered out knowing he couldn't place blame on the girl who couldn't even see the world around her.

COME LITTLE LIGHT
come away to the darkness
Snow? Feelings of confliction arose within Doe as she took one step after another, her heels clicking on the concrete. Deeply, she desired to be infatuated with snow. Her younger brother, Clef, was always cooing over how beautiful snow could be, but alas, Doe couldn't see it. The only thing it did for her was make traversing throughout Salem increasingly difficult. The cold nipped at all exposed flesh of the young Witch's. If only she had been born with the ability of Pyrokinesis. Cozy, flickering flames would be soothing in such shiver inducing conditions, but, it was not to be. Instead, she could only shoot fireworks from her fingertips. The ironic part, she couldn't even step back to admire the beauty her power held
"Fireworks! Can you believe that, Treble?" Doe chuckled to herself cynically, reaching down momentarily to ruffle the Golden Retriever's fur. The old dog nuzzled her hand before going back to leading her through the maze like streets. Caught in a never ending Labyrinth. "What use could fireworks have in the first place?" Doe murmured, tossing her wavy hair over her shoulder.
"Hey Doe!" The voice protruded into the pitch black, which Doe gleefully snatched up. Her tuned ears picked up the general vicinity the voice came from, and she turned her head in the sought direction, "Hello, Hello, Chase!" Chase was a junior at the college Doe was currently attending. Chase was also blind, in one eye that was, a fact the two quickly bonded off of. It was the first time she had met someone who could even halfway relate to her everyday struggles. Treble himself gave a happy bark in greetings to the young gentleman. "What brings you here? I didn't think you had classes today.." He inquired, and Doe could only imagine the puzzled look on his face. The fact of the matter was, Doe had completely forgotten she had no classes set for today. Feeling her cheeks grow warm, she bowed her head down, "Oh.. you know.. Treble and I were just out for a walk, thought we'd drop by along the way.." The soft-spoken excuse was cringe worthy. Doe was left in silence for a few moments, which seemed to go on for all eternity for the flustered Witch, before a laugh emitted from Chase. Thankful, she gave an auditory sigh of relief, lilted laughter arose from within her.
"Ah! I've got to go, class starting in a few!" Stumbling over his words, she could hear the audible tap of his shoes as he sprinted off in a new direction. Shaking her head softly, she turned to leave the scene, only to be completely rammed into. "Oof!" Wind knocked out of her, Doe was sent sailing backwards, sprawled on the ground. She hadn't anticipated being nudged into and had a rather weak stance. Awkwardly, Doe quickly hopped back on her feet, wobbly at first, as if a young child standing up on it's two feet for the first time. Her dog sniffing around her did not help the process go any smoother. The person she'd collided with gave a mumble of an apology. Unable to match a name with the voice, it was safe to assume this was someone Doe had not met before. Would it be weird to request to feel his face? She thought suddenly. It helped her get an idea of what someone's appearance was. Able to feel the curves of their face helped her to develop a mental image. Deciding against asking such a thing right away, she proceeded with a soft smile.
Waving a hand nonchalantly in the air as she shook her head and spoke in a rushed manner, "No need to say sorry!" Feelings of embarrassment had trickled their way into her brain, and left her feeling odd as she stood there, dying to hear a response. The inability to see facial expressions always made her uneasy when conversing with others.
Tobias watched the female get up as awkwardly as a toddler who just learned to walk, but then fell over for the very first time. Any normal person would have offered a hand, but his rude personality wouldn’t let a single slip up so instead, he carefully watched her after all, she wasn’t a friend and so he wouldn’t allow his other side to be shown. As he watched her gain her footing, he couldn’t help, but to keep his gaze from meeting her dog out of habit since his two shifting forms were of the canine species. Not only that, but the need to show he wasn’t a threat rang in his head, but he ignored it as he was in human form and he would be seen as weird for acting so much like a dog… If only mortals knew of the Supernatural and then perhaps he wouldn’t feel so conflicted when out in public next to a canine of sorts.
Flickering his gaze, he caught the other speaking just in time as she told him not to apology. It was odd in a way, but he accepted the fact she didn’t want his simple apology to which he nodded his head out of habit. Soon his gaze flickered back to the elder canine, but not directly in the eye when he spoke out suddenly. “Ah… Nice dog.” Typically, Toby never complimented other dog owners, but instead would take pictures of their loyal canine from a far. He couldn’t help, but to have a strong love for canines which could have been because that his shifting forms were two canines. Even so, he still felt like he had a special sort of bond with dogs as he had a complete understanding of them unlike trainers who ‘claimed’ to study these dogs and ‘know everything’ about them.
“Hm, I guess I should ask since you seem to go here, but what class should I sit in for? I’m thinking about going here.” His tone was a bit on the rude side, but it was better, then what he normally talked like as he tended to throw in insults when he spoke to others he didn’t know. Instead, he seem to be a bit nicer which could be due to the fact that he wanted to shower the elder golden in a bit of love even though it went against everything he stood for when out in public. He had a sort of code he lived by, and acting like a complete dog lover might ruin his whole bad guy attitude that he worked so hard to attain. If this girl could see, then she could tell by his face on how much he was adoring the dog she had next to her.
“I would sit in for the major I want, but they don’t have any classes today.” He continued on just in case she told him to go sit in for a class and or major he wanted to take. After all, he wasn’t an idiot when it came to visiting colleges as it seemed to be common sense.

COME LITTLE LIGHT
come away to the darkness
Oddly enough, the fact that Doe was not catered to when coming up from the ground pleased her slightly. A gnawing pain grew deeper within herself each time she was treated as incapable of doing mundane things. The idea that this man, though unknowingly, helped her made her feel in debt almost.
"Thank you!" Doe muttered absentmindedly. Doe was saved from the two falling into an awkward silence as he spoke up, commenting on her precious baby, Treble. "Only nice?" she teased, reaching down to pat the ol' boy on the head. "I couldn't ask for a better companion," she cooed, primarily directing the sentence at Treble, which he responded by giving a chipper bark. Turning her attention towards the stranger, she rubbed a thoughtful hand on her chin, letting out a low 'hmm.'
She thought back to Chad, who was an aspiring Video Game Designer. A lecture was up and coming, and it was all Doe could pull out at a moments notice. She could only hope video games didn't bore the man to death, or sitting through that lecture would be a living hell. It used to always irk Doe how she could never partake in playing games when she was younger while Clef gamed away right beside her. Instead, she was forced to treat it as a movie; listen and imagine. It wasn't ideal. None of it was. Doe often thought she'd even resort to killing just to be able to receive eyesight. It was something she would always crave for, constantly desire. She was used to a world of darkness, she grew up in it. Colors had no meaning, deeming something beautiful was a hollow concept. She oftentimes stayed away from places like Salem's national park, because it pained her too much to not be able to see the nature surrounding her.
Climbing out of her thoughts. Doe offered it up," I know of a video game design lecture starting up in about ten or so minutes..?"
Appreciation was given at the compliment Toby bestowed upon her fellow canine who seemed to enjoy his master quite or so Tobias amused the dog was a male. Of course, the token of ‘thanks’ was followed by a tease which had him roll his eyes a bit. Despite being blind, she didn’t seem to fall in the category of grump and hating the world as most people tended to be when it came to these sort of things. Instead, she had quite the positive attitude. Not only that, but she also seemed to have quite the strong bond with her dog. Not only that, but the dog gave a cheerful bark as if agreeing on the thought Toby had beforehand.
“Well I guess he is better, then nice.” Toby teased back as she gave off a low ‘hmm’ which probably meant she was thinking about the question he had asked. He wondered what class she would recommend as he only skimmed through a bit of the list, but the first couple of classes seemed a bit boring. Yet, she brought up a good suggestion of the video game design lecture and when he quickly scanned the list, he found it at the bottom of the list which seemed a bit disappointing after all, the class seemed interesting. He tended to play video games whenever he was inside as they tended to be the best choice when spending some time inside. Although most of the time he spent was outside as he liked exploring the world such as the national park and had some sort of dreams of leaving Salem to explore a bit more of the world like the Yellow Stone national park.
“Actually that sounds great… Uh mind showing me the way?” He saw some irony in being led by a blind girl to his next class, but at the same time he felt like there was some sort of inside joke to it as well.

COME LITTLE LIGHT
come away to the darkness
Doe gave a curt nod, "There you go," she paused, tossing her hair over her shoulder, "much better," It was only now that the cold wrapped it's bitter claws around the young Witch. She had seemingly forgotten all about the flakes falling from the sky. Tugging at her gloves, her body loathed for warmth. Admittedly, her outfit was not designed all that much for winter. Her bottoms were tight and provided no warmth. The jacket was no different than throwing on a flimsy t-shirt.
Gah, winter...
Doe had an enormous distaste for the winter months. There was no beauty for her to see in the season, and therefore found it to be a nuisance. She constantly would slip and slide, and just feel the bitter wind brush against her. Time and time again she tried to find reasons to be more tolerable with the cooler months, but to no avail. Her mind would continuously flow back to the negative, bitter thoughts. Frowning at just the passing idea of winter, she shook her head lightly to herself. The action only noticeable to the wary eye.
The English language barely made it into her head, before she was snapped out of her daze. "Ah.. I can point you in the general area.. Yeah..!" she spoke softly, wrapped up in thought. It would take her awhile to find the exact room. She'd have to read the Braille on every sign. Doe knew the general vicinity that the lecture was being held in, but not the exact location. A mental map she'd drew came to mind, as she took steps forward, her boots lightly clacking on the paved paths.
"Come on slowpoke!" Doe boasted thunderously, not having a care in the world for those watching as she took long strides towards one of the nearby buildings. Becoming chipper by the moment just thinking of entering a heated building. Pausing to wait and ask if he was following was not on her mind. This man would not stop her on her journey for warmth.
A hoodie wasn't a proper jacket for winter, and so when the winds of winter blew a big breath across the land, a shiver crawled its way up Toby's spine as a silence seemed to fall between the two. If only he had brought a proper jacket, then perhaps he wouldn't look like a Chihuahua. Of course, he had never bothered to go out and get proper clothing for the winter after all that meant wasting his hard earn paycheck when the cold season only lasted a few months. Of course, he played the idiot card, but he felt more comfortable in t-shirts and hoodies anyways.
Yet, a voice spoke to him and he almost didn't catch it as his gaze was focused in the distance. He didn't know why he was staring off into space, but he knew he wasn't thinking about anything. It was as if his mind was blank, like a canvas and was waiting for an artist to paint a picture. Being called a slowpoke, he started to follow after the blind girl who seemed to know where she was going as her fellow canine followed as well.
"I'm coming." He announced as he started to pick up his walk intro a trot to catch up with the female who seemed determined to get inside a building.

COME LITTLE LIGHT
come away to the darkness
"Mmm!" Doe hummed in response to the male as she stuck her free hand out in search of the door. Within a few moments, her fingers wrapped around the handle, which she proceeded to open swiftly, feeling the blast of warm air. Gleefully stepping indoors, she slid off her gloves. Closing in towards the wall, she zoned on finding signs. Fingertips softly grazing the wall as she moved down the bare hallway, most of the students hidden away in their classrooms.
"What's your name, anyways?" she inquired softly, wanting to know what to refer to him as, and also, to break through the lingering silence. Her fingertips finally reaching a sign, touching the Braille underneath, Doe quickly knew she didn't have the right room. Sighing softly, she pressed on, waiting for the next batch of dots to run underneath her touch. She knew she was in the right building, that she was sure on, but where the room was located would take her a couple minutes.
More Braille..
Doe had finally locked in on the correct room. "We," quickly pausing for dramatic effect, she continued, "have arrived..!"
The blind female gave a light hum in response to his words, and he soon slowed his pace down once he had caught up to her. By the way, her pace was set, the winters wind were having an effect on her. As she carefully swung the door open to the building, the heat came like a crashing wave and if he could, he would have groaned in delight as the warmth seemed to embrace him like an old friend who had finally gotten the money to come see a friend across the country. Stepping into the building and closing the door quickly so the cold couldn't invade, Toby noticed her pace started to slow as she had gotten what she wanted. Watching her carefully, he noticed how she touched the walls as if they were telling her where to go. It had sort of reminded him of Pocahontas for some reason, but he trailed behind her like a duckling to its own mother. The silence was nice after all, and just when he thought it would last the whole trip, she inquired about his name.
"Tobias, but I prefer Toby." He responded after all that same line was said over and over as everyone would inquire about his name unless they knew his parents. He was surprised the girl didn't give out her own name, but he didn't question it either after all, it was hard to tell if a person was trustworthy on their voice alone. Sight was a benefit when it came to getting a good picture of someone, and without, she needed to rely on other tactics. Almost running into her again, he stopped when she made a pause with "we" wondering if they had come into the wrong building. Of course that meant going back out into the cold which was something he didn't want to do, but luckily she announced it was the right room.
"Awesome." He replied back before moving from behind her and headed into the classroom before popping his head back out again. "Uh thanks for the help." With those words, he popped back into the classroom to sit in as the professor did his thing.
Welcome to the scenic town of Salem, Michigan where our story takes the stage. It’s the year 2016, a date not quite far for us to be unable to imagine. Whispers of rebellion are starting to shake the supernatural world, hunters are loading their pistols while the humans are nearly wetting themselves in fear. Each side has their finger on the trigger, itchy and waiting for the other to strike to set off this war. Which side will you choose or how will your story unfold? That, my friend, is left to the wiles of time unless you think you can play your cards right…. But only in the end will they truly be revealed.
